Red in the Morning

I captured this image on a recent trip to Long Beach island, NJ. The shot was at 2 seconds at f/16. I processed the RAW file twice, once for the sky and once for the water and combined in Photoshop CS4. I also added a curves adjustment to boost contrast. I used the widest setting on my 18-200mm lens. This was once instance where a super wide angle would have come in handy!

This is a godly scene Michael. The color pallete is pretty intense.
I bet it was just as spectacular in the moment.

A dramatic sky - great color! The color in the water is terrific, too. I like the softness your two seconds gave to the surf.

An amazing scene for sure Michael. Very impressionistic and intriguing and your composition works extremely well. I do think the water could stand a bit of desaturating as the color cast is extremely strong. However, this certainly jumps off the page and is definitely a "wow" image. Congrats!

Crazy color but I love the drama in the sky and ocean Michael.

On one hand it seems a bit intense, but with just the simple, flexible elements (clouds and sky), it works quite well.

I'd desaturate the blues a bit, but otherwise this is a wild, wonderful scene.

Wow, this really gets your attention. A little to strong with the color for me, but on the other hand I really like looking at it,so I have to say that it works. Pretty amazing shot, Michael.

The luminousity of the sky is great. It looks almost 3D. Beautiful work.
