Nice focus and detail. It is a little on the dark side.

BTW, this is a maypop, or passion flower, (Passiflora incarnata) not clematis

Jay, welcome to NPN and Flora.

This is quite a charming little flower. I think you did an excellent job at hand-holding; the detail is great.

Out of curiosity was were your shooting stats? I think you did a great job separating the FG subject from the BG.

Cheers,

Carol

Hey, Jay that's some pretty good technique to capture this bloom with the sharpness rendered. Well done.

Very nicely done Jay. A fine introduction to the Flora Gallery. The only thing I might suggest with regard to the image would be darkening or cloning out the brightest flora at the top of the image. I've never seen one of these that I recall and I grew up in OK and still spend a lot of time out on the plains in Colorado.

Welcome to the gallery. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your images.

Jay:
Welcome to Flora.
A very nicely captured passion flower with intricate architecture, colors and texture. I might be tempted to try a different crop with the flower in the lower half rather than in the upper half of the frame or a square crop.

Jay: You did really well with this subject. I have a bunch of them in my garden and the messy BG is always a problem. You managed this nicely. Top notch shot. >=))>
