Nice image. I like the crouched position of the bird stalking and the crop you have chosen. May be a bit oversaturated-at least the coloring of the ones here isn't quite this intense.

Beautiful detail and pose, John. The oof rock in the foreground is a bit unfortunate, but I can't think of anything you could do about it-a higher angle wouldn't have given you as nice a pose.

What a great pose!
I'd be tempted to clone in-focus rock over the FG oof stuff, and possibly clone out altogether that left rock, then leave a bit more space behind this guy. .
Does seem a bit over-saturated..
Really good as is, but could be even better!

Very nice tension; you've captured well that incredibly slow stalk.

Good stalking pose and I like the semi-pano crop.

Hi John,
You had some good recommendations on your image. I shoot this species a good bit down in South Louisiana. The only thing I see odd is the reddish coloring on the wing. That is not a color that I would say is normal. Could be from too aggressive saturation, just not sure.

Great shot. I like the position of the right foot and the sneaky low posture.

Great pose John, love the raised foot and the intense concentration seen on this species when stalking prey. Colors on the heron seem oversaturated to my eye, especially noticable on the feet and the wing. That should be easy to fix.

I would desaturate the colors as others have mentioned and leave the rest as is. Great dynamic pose here IMO.
