Shot a few months ago in Gulfport. Only regret is that I didn't get a little lower angle.

I like the angle Bill, it is low enough. I love the raised foot, the rippled water in the foreground and the smoothness at the back. Nice eye contact too. It looks like the sandpiper has something in the bill, I like that too.

Mia practically took the words out of my mouth. I also think your shooting angle isn't too high. A fine portrait.

Bill, I like the raised foot, the bit in the bill and what looks like good detail at this size. A nice sandpiper image.

I would agree with whats been said and add that the clean blue BG really makes this bird pop.

I like this as posted. Unless you've tried shooting this species you can't appreciate how small they are.

Very cool, Bill. I like the little red whatever in the beak and the pose of the bird. :toast:

Hi Bill,
Excellent light and image clarity. I like the raised foot as it adds a little life to the image. Getting lower would require you to go skidding along on your belly. I could never do that, too big of a belly. However you don't have that problem.
What are those small volcano looking mud piles? Clams??
