Northern Cardinal female, loving her tree :)
F/5, 1/500th, ISO 640, Canon 1D Mark III, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x ext, No flash. Overcast around 4:30 in the afternoon.

Speaking of love..I must a part with my Canon, it has served me very well. However, I would like to upgrade at this time.
So if anyone is interested in a Canon 1D Mark III, mine's for sale in the NPN classifieds here..

Great pose - unusual. I always appreciate something a little different.

About the camera - sorry, I shoot with the same rig you used here.

Howard, Great timing for this pose. I like the slender cardinal and the sharp details.

Wow, what a great picture and pose. I am so in awe of the pictures photographers turn out at his site. It inspires me to keep trying and hope that one day I will reach that level. Long ways to go, but loving every minute of it.

Lol, I have a seen birds do this, usually wiping stuff off their beaks, but not the only reason I suspect. You have the entire bird in focus, good work. The lime green background is perfect.
