Mt. Agassiz Peak Bagging

Shot this self portrait a few summers ago on a trip up to the top of California's 20th highest peak, Mt. Agassiz. Tried summiting twice at night, didn't make it the first time so second time's the charm!

Here is a little bit of info on the peak, it's a class II climb unless you take a route where you need to boulder. I had to do some bouldering to avoid the melt water in the gulley but mostly all class 2 scrambling. It's an easy route up in daylight just not the most obvious to find while there. From below it looks easier to find. No trail from Bishop pass but there are tiny bits of goat trails here and there. There is a small tarn above Bishop Pass.

I have an intereseting trip report in a pastblog post.

I like how you placed yourself in the frame here, Steve... building a straight line with the mountain's spine... your clothing brings the temperature across, all too easily forgotten when looking at the beautiful warm light...

Great shot Steve. I like the inclusion of the figure. It adds a sense of scale yet the clothing colours blend in so that they are not distracting.

The view is gigantic, dramatic, and just plain awesome. It sounds like a pretty sweet hike too.
