In San Diego we are surrounded by the ocean, mountains and desert. I show my two boys that there is a wonderful world outside the concrete. This picture is Spring of last year after the winter rains when rivers and creeks flow again giving us cool mountain swimming holes. Hank, thanks for the request of seeing kids in the environment.

This is great David! Talk about being "in touch" with their environment. I bet they'll remember the incident and take their own kids out in search of nature someday.

I wonder how many times this scene is repeated around the country each year?

This brought a real chuckle to me, David. One rarely visualizes San Diego from this aspect. I think we tend to think of the civilized harbors, Old Town, the Zoo... rather than a scene as idyllic as this.

Nice job.

So easy to forget, for city kids, all the wonder that exists around them away from the concrete. The San Diego area is so beautiful, and this photo really captures it as well as how much they are enjoying it.

Very cool. I think most people don't realize there are spots like this in San Diego County, and that includes the people who live here.
