The girls

The original version can be seen over in the EPJ gallery this week. I showed that version to my older daughter, then played around a bit while she did some math. When I showed her a rough version of this image, she thought it was cool how the filter enhanced the image so I worked up a better version. Pixelbender Oilpaint filter, selectively applied because it gives a weird tattoo look to skin. Heavier canvas texture to background than to the girls.

Here is a small crop. So much detail has been lost to compression. I am curious if the varying canvas texture density between the background and the girls looks ok. Thanks in advance.

Rob, I honestly like the image as posted in the EPJ galley without the oilpaint filter. Another possibility would be to simply use a photo filter.

Ciao ;^)

I wish the girls and the BG had the same texture. Very nice image Rob.

Carol, I appreciate your honesty. I know a couple of family members who agree with you 100%.

David, if I ever print this, I will back off the texture from the background, to make it less intrusive. Thanks for the suggestion.
