Enchanted Land

New Mexico is known as the "Land of Enchantment" as most know, and this evening it lived up to it's reputation.

The mountain in the background is Mt. San Antonio, and it's over 10,000 feet in elevation.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

What a great sunset Morris, beautiful sky. Something though is just not working for me at the horizon. It seems a tad off kilter for me on the left side. If that were fixed it would much improve this for me. I am "horizonally" challenged so it could be me as well!

That's one enchanted sky and sage carpet Morris. A great moment captured well.

Awesome color and very cool "soap bubble" mountain. I really like the sea of sage(?) below too.

Very nice image. I don't think its tilted, I believe its just the lay of the land if you look closely. Ron :toast:

Ron is correct Adrian. My bubble level showed dead level and I used a 28-135mm at 57mm so there should be no discernible distortion. Thanks for the comments. :wavey:

Nice shot, Morris! I might go for thirds--a bit too much fg here perhaps...
Ever make it up Capulin? Ive driven by so many times and never made the detour.

Very nice, Morris. Love the light and how well you controlled it.

Hi Morris,

I love the colors in the sky and the shape of the mountain. The fg and middle parts of the image seem too bright to me given the amount of light in the sky. I think darkening that up would add a bit more mystery and intrigue to the image and to my eye make it more palatable.

Stan, no I never have made it up Capulin, although I wish I had a nickel for every time I've passed it. Always in a hurry to get to family.
This big'un is south of Antonito, Colorado along 285 but I was shooting it from south of San Luis about 11 miles and it was a considerable distance away, yet still is impressive. Capulin is a pimple compared to this thing.

Looks like a very well balanced exposure, Morris. The sky is terrific! It works for me.

I like how the FG leads the eye to the mountain, It'd feel a bit tight with a shorter FG.
