Cub approaching mother.

Not sure, if she was happy or annoyed as she wanted to go to other side of the forest and cubs were delaying it, this cub was approaching her cautiously.
This was from my first digital shoot in 2007, I happened to convert quite late.
Thank you so much for your kind attention & views!

Hi Jagdeep. I'm so impressed with photos of any of the exotic big cats, they are amazing. I imagine you have photos of the one adult by herself. Compositionally I think the cub detracts a bit from the balance of the image although in terms of interest and the context having two is better. The adult seems to be more concerned with you than the youngster, definitely giving you the eye.

I really like the colors and light of this one. The submissive head turn of the cub and the look of indifference from the mother make me think the cub knows that mom's not pleased.

Family images are so much nicer and reveal the complex relationship between mother and cub as shown here! :toast:

Jagdeep, I really like how the dominance of the adult really comes across in this shot! It has a lot of emotion in it and I find it extremely interesting.

Jagdeep, technically the image is great (like we are used to seeing from you) and it is pleasing to look at. Especially the low POV and the coloration is excellent. The adult's pose is perfect and the bright clear yellow eyes good focal points. However, IMO the position of the cub is not ideal. Moreover since there is no form of contact or interaction between mother and cub (e.g. eye contact or a lick on the nose or a paw on the nose or something). Apart from that it feels a little tight on the sides. A bit more DOF also would not have hurt to get the cub sharper, although I realise you have a potentially problematic BG if it becomes more in focus with those vertical tree trunks.

Beautiful shot of these amazing animals. Personally I think the composition would have been better with a bit less space at the bottom and more at the top.
