Spider and prey

A large, yellow spider has taken up residence amongst some flowers in my father's yard. While watching and taking some static photos, a bee got caught in the web. The spider struck quickly, wrapping the bee in silk in seconds. I had never seen this before, and then got to see it a second time a few minutes later :). It probably only took an hour or so for the spider to eat the first bee. DOF was a nightmare. 7D, f/11, 1/500, ISO 400, 225 mm, partial crop
