We shall all go that way

After forcing our way upstream in complete darkness, me and my friend, found this fallen birch. Last year when I was here it was growing strong on top of the stone. Maybe a winter storm was to much for it. From my rescent trip to Innerdalen in Norway.

An interesting composition; it certainly portrays a sense of darkness and the colors match the mood - it supports your story well. I do find it a bit busy, but the shapes and textures hold my interest.

I'd agree that you've certainly captured the dark mood. I'm not so sure about the composition though. The foreground water doesn't seem to relate to the fallen birch which in turn doesn't seem to relate to the background.

I do think the exposure on the water is quite nice though with just the right amount of highlight and a beautiful soft texture.

Somewhat complex scene, but it sure has some lovely textures. At first I thought it was a bit underexposed, but it does create a bit of atmosphere that goes with the title.

I think the comp is outstanding! I had the same reaction as Tony as to the exposure.

Love this image. I particularly like how the birch bridges the two sides together... that allows my eye to travel across the image nicely. Beautiful work!
