This is the suspension bridge in Capilano in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. The area around the bridge is something of a small nature amusement park, with displays, gift shop, restaurant, etc. The bridge is 446 ft long and sits 230 feet above the river crossing this gorge. It bounces and sways and is very impressive despite the Disneyland-style surroundings. There are other suspended walkways, ponds, waterfalls, etc. in a very compact area. All in all well worth the visit.

For this shot, I liked the contrasting tree against the huge evergreens around the bridge.

Thanks for looking!

Well composed and a very pleasant scene. Even with IS, this took a very steady hand.

That is a great comp, especially the inclusion of that foreground tree being lighter than the others. Excellent work. Hmm, have you contacted the tourist department for this area? I think they could use this.

Whoa! It is not often a photo gets my heart pounding but this one did. Nice job conveying the excitement of crossing this bridge. BTW I also like the color contrasts.

Beautiful image David! Great composition, especially with the leaves of the tree following the lines of the bridge.

It is fantastic to see a wonderful image of a familiar place. I lived few years in Downtown Vancouver (West End) which is about 10 minutes from Capilano Suspension Bridge. I have been here few times (whenever had a visiter from different places) and I have some shots of this but none of them comes even closer to this. I like the FG tree with different color.
Thanks for sharing :toast:
