Castillo de San Cristobal

Taken while sailing into San Juan, Puerto Rico. I liked the nature part of this image, the colors of the water and sky, but I also like how it shows that nature is slowly taking over the fort by vegetation growing over it and how the fort is crumbling.

D70, handheld, f10, 1/400, ISO unknown, 28mm, natural light, nearly full frame, just cropped a tiny amount due to a miniscule rotation adjustment. larger version posted.

As always, I sincerely appreciate your comments & critiques. Thanks for looking.

The colors and light look perfectly natural and I bet this is a great sight at you sailed in. The fort looks pretty formidable. I think a crop of about a third of the sky makes the fort more prominent. Also, a touch more contrast might make this pop a little more. Still a very nice shot.

This is an excellent photo, Mia! The exposure is absolutely perfect, catching all the subtle textures and shades of colors in the sky and showing great detail in the fort. I like it just the way it is and wouldn't touch anything. :toast:

It's a stunner, Mia. And an excellent demonstration that nature bats last.

Not the world's best light, but a nice comp and scene--good entry, Mia!

I like what I see Mia, you've done an excellent job IMHO. Don't have much landscape experience, so I'll leave the critique/suggestions for improvement to others..
I can say that you have presented an excellent representation of what you saw this fine day sailing into San Juan.
Do you know how long it has been since I sailed? It pains me to think of it :frown:
Well done :toast:
