Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado

My brother and I hiked up to High Dune, one of the highest dunes in the park for sunset. As we left the parking lot the winds started kicking up and were howling by the time we got to the top. The hazy diagonal lines in the image are sheets of sand blowing up the face of the dune. I sat in this spot for 20 minutes or so watching this feature almost disappear in that short time. Please see larger image. Any critiques or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Beautiful flowing abstract image. The larger image is even more enthralling. Just a small nit, but I would crop that tiny piece off in the very, very ULC. Great job with this one Scott. Fine art for sure.

Beautiful image, and I agree with Dean on the small crop.

I like this a lot, it's a very nice comp. I can see it working with a bit more contrast, but I don't think it really needs it. The mixed angles and lines in the dunes is really interesting.

Very nice. The subtle color variations and lines make for a very pleasing abstract.

Scott,

This is one fantastic dune image. Wonderfully graphic of course, but that hazy lines of blowing sand really give this image a wonderful touch. You were well rewarded for your efforts with this capture.

Awesome image, Scott! Sand textures are one of my favorite subjects, and this is as cool an abstract as any I've seen in a while. Glad you were able to wait out the wind, as this was definitely worth it.
