Chasing the tide

On a recent trip to the Oregon coast, I found this sea stack (as I'm sure many of you have, also). Too bad I happened upon this area as the tide was doing exactly what I needed it to. I dropped my gear and ran to get the shot, chasing the tide down the beach. I only had time to fire a few shots!
Let me know what you think!

Love the sense of depth you've created with the length of exposure and the stacks fading into the distance.

I like the streaks leading to the left of the main sea stack towards the more distant rocks.

A wonderfully dynamic image with a great perspective/low angle view. And it is sensationally gloomy-- a perfect representation of the OR Coast on a cloudy/stormy day. Nice debut! Welcome to NPN.

Welcome to NPN Anne. I know exactly where this is, been there a number of times but never in great sunrise or sunset conditions. Your image shows off the typically dark moody OR coast. And the wave streaks are a nice touch.

I like the comp and the interesting light textures. The one black silhouette seems a bit large, thought there is a nice progression of them into the frame.

Wonderful sombre mood Anne the streaked receding surf and that heavy black detailless rock work just great together, especially with its vague but present reflection and the recessive clarity of the second and third island rocks.
