Kaikoura, New Zealand

On the final run of images from my New Zealand trip in April. Blazing light at sunrise illuminates a rock platform.

Canon 5DMkII, 16-35mm 2.8L, ISO 50, f22, 13 seconds, GND filter.
Check out the larger version too.

I always enjoy your seascapes Kah. The side lighting on the rocks really helps make this image for me. Nice work.

I love the way the warm highlights and sharp detail on the rocks mix with the cool tones and soft exposure of the water. Well conceived and captured.

Wonderful light and color. That sunrise light on the rocks really shows in the large version, and it's great.
Another beautiful scene from New Zealand!

Love the light on those foreground rocks, you can really see how great it is in the large version. I also like the way the mountainrange in the background is receding into the distance and getting less and less visible. great shot!

Looks great. Like the others what makes this image is as good as it is the light kissing the rocks. Portions of the mountains my be a bit too "cyanish" for my tastes. Regardless this is a fine image.

Nice capture Kah.
The kiss of light makes it for sure. The Cyan colours are typical and realistic of this part of the world

Thanks for your comments, especially for the description 'kiss of light'. I can use it instead of the current lame title.

Lots of nuances in the light here on the foreground. I really like that. An understated, but very nice coastal image.

I'd agree that the highlight on the rocks is the highlight of the image. Lovely water texture though and I like how the texture in the water relates to the texture in the sky.

Lovely shot Kah.

Very moody and beautiful. Light looks superior here. You had great spot and great conditions and used it all the way. Great shot!

The soft colors in the sky are beautiful and really gives a good feel to the whole picture. I love these kinds of coastal scenes that are captured and presented in a natural fashion.

The warm light spilling over the rocks engages the eye immediately and then the comp allows the depth of the image to come through. Excellent work.
