Swamp lily
by Richard Teller
This was taken on the Anhinga Trail in the Everglades. It was kind of funny. I was down in the muck with my tripod and camera on the side of the trail where all of the trees are. People would come by and get all excited to see what I was seeing. When my wife would tell them that I was shooting flower they would get a look of disappointment on their faces and go on. Nothing very exotic, just a flower.

9 commentsI was at RMNP one morning standing just off a road with tripod and camera in moraine park just as the sun was coming up over the mountain tops. There were a ring of mountains all around me, a splashing stream running near my feet, wind rustling the ponderosa pines overhead, crystal clear mountain air and beautiful light anyway I looked. A car pulled up on the road, the driver rolled down his window and yelled out "Is there anything to see out there?" I had no idea how to answer him.

Looks as though you have a lot of detail in the image. Have you attempted to open up the shadows? Especially selectively around the filaments and anthers.
Nice find.

I find lily difficult to capture but you have done and excellent job here. The bg really sets this off. Well done.
