Green Heron

Found this one out feeding early in the morning. Had some quality directional light and he was perched on a nice Cypess Tree Knee with nothing but duckweed behind him for 100 feet. It was just one of those mornings of being in the right place at the right time.

Ronnie, I love that stump - it looks like a gator sticking it's head up out of the water. Duckweed and lighting are nice touches

Lighting is superb here Ronnie, with the heron posed nicely and a great perch. Right place at the right time for sure.

You should capture the lighting when it does the best for the colors. Love the intense pose. Excellent details.

Right place right time.....Boy, I'll say Ronnie. Superb image. The uncluttered duckwead with a cypress knee all by it self really makes this for me. Exquisite light right where you need it. Wouldn't mind just a touch of room on the right side.

Terrific Ronnie, great setting and pose, and lighting. Your photos always have a nice "feel" to them, helped in no small part by the terrific lighting you try to work with. :toast:

Really nice perch and bird. I really like the lighting. Too bad those weeds covered the reflection!

Perfect lighting! Great find and shot. Makes me wonder how they can see anything to eat below all that duckweed, though.

The duck weed makes a really cool bg in this one, Ronnie. I like the way it blurs into the distance. :toast:

Lovely Ronnie! I especially like the soft light here that cuts contrast and gives everything an even gentle appearance.
