Pink
by Eva McDermott
Well, I posted a view of this beach on St Ann's Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia last autumn called "Blue" because it was just that.... BLUE and COLD. This year, a pink mist enveloped the beach at sunset. It was warmer (not tropical by any means) and very buggy but I enjoyed being enveloped by the color on one of my favorite beaches in Nova Scotia. I have posted "Blue" (taken autumn 2009 slightly different angle) below for comparison of the mood. Interested in your comments and critiques. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy both because this is what keeps me coming back to Cape Breton for more!
BTW - Both were taken at sunset facing the the sunrise direction.

Perhaps I'll be the oddball here and say that I think the blue version is much stronger. The rocks and interaction with the water, the color and even the clouds are more interesting. The pink version is quite lovely, but I don't find it nearly as compelling. I think because there is so much expanse of the sea that I start to get lost lose interest. But that's just one person's opinion and it looks like I'm in the minority!

But im not a big fan of super long ocean exposures, so i prefer the exposure in the pink version. So, slow blues are nice, but i prefer fast blues (a la Scuttle buttin
