Taken up in the hills above Ystradfellte in South Wales, UK.

It was a very cold and frosty morning as you can see from the foreground.

This is a lovely scene, with the warm light providing a good contrast to the frosty grass. The composition does an excellent job of leading me into the scene.

What strikes me about this image is the color palette - from various greens to orange to blue. Very appealing.

Geoffrey,

Two things really pop out for me. The first is all the linear qualities going on here. The sky, the fence, the road, the ladder.... this all works very well. The second aspect I really like is the "story"... Why the steps here?... who uses them?... how many generations have been climbing over them?... Great image :toast:

I like the feel of the image. The lines of the fence and other features lead through the scene. Well seen and captured.

I'm going to depart from my usual technical photographic analysis here and say simply that this image is extremely evocative for me, having lived in many rural areas and having a British Isles ancestral heritage. You nailed it.

Geoffrey,

This is lovely. The prospective is very well executed. The feeling that one is walking along the lane is just a good composition.
