During a trip to Lofoten I saw a wonderful waterfall from the road and decided to stop there and take some shots. I moved further and further up the mountains until I got to this place. This is probably 2 kilometers up in a valley over a little place called Tind, just before Å, the end of the road in Lofoten. A stunning little place.
I saw this little pool with vibrant. rust red bottom and had to get a shot with those amazing clouds in the back. This is actually two exposures, one for the sky and one for the foreground. The reason for that was that I wanted the reflection in the little pool to go away and I wanted to have the clouds "pop", something that wasn't possible with just one exposure.
This was just an amazing day. One of the only days this summer that I've gotten a sunburn...and I'm ginger!
C&C always welcome!!

i would see it in B&W
good job

As mentioned, trying it in b&w could be interesting.
What is really amazing and almost bizarre is that in the little thumbnail, this has a distinct 3-D look to it where the rust-colored part of the image looks like it's vertical and the surrounding rock appears to rise out of the landscape. Now as I see the original and the larger view, that impression diminishes... but I just wanted to point that out to see in anyone else got that impression.
The pool captured here is wonderful and is integrated with the entire scene quite nicely. Excellent use of the wide angle lens and near/far composition. My only with would be for a little more shadow detail in the background mountain, but that's minor.
What a great find and great reward for your efforts.

Keep on shooting!

Especially the ones that give me pointers on how this shot could have been better, Input like that from other photographers is invaluable!
