PLEASE VIEW IT LARGER, THANKS
Valle Stretta is a short and narrow valley of the Western Alps in Piedmont, right at the border with France, and it's doubtlessly one of the best alpine environment I know. Beautiful peaks, huge vertical rock walls, streams and an incredibly rich and varied vegetation that includes most of the species you can find elsewhere in the whole Alps range, such as larches, maples, aspens, scots an swiss stone pines among many others.
I went to the valley last Wednesday looking for some good fall picture but couldn't imagine I would have found such a kaleidoscopic palette. As the ice on the cake, I was also blessed with some nice warm light at sunset to top everything else off. Here's what I came out with.
This is stitched - as usual - from five vertical takes, each double processed for better dynamic range. As compression hurts a whole lot here, a click on the larger file is definitely required.
Your C&C are as always greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for your time.

--Oh, and i DO agree with Paul after all!
Stan, Floris, this is actually a crop (
Thanks again!
Beautiful place and moment captured, colors are awesome, perfect for hanging on a livingroom wall.
Hell man, everyone else already said the good stuff. And you nailed it with the kaleidoscope comment. I find it all very interesting. Not something you see in the states.
As far as a critique, this is coming from a processing/photoshop POV so take it at that. I'm sure most people won't even pick it up. The center peak and some of the other ranges do not look quite right. Especially the section with the light hitting them. Almost a software driven HDR look to them. Not sure if that makes sense.
Regardless, an image to be proud of. Totally rad!
I wish the tree on the left wasn't quite so heavy in the frame, but, since the rest of this image is just so strong, it's not a big deal.
I like the crop the way it is.
Wow this location is simply fantastic with these colors, the light too is splendid..I like this one, Bravo !!
ma cazzo ancora questi qua non hanno capito come ti chiami? Uno dice Paulo, un altro Paola. Mah.
Excellent image and composition. But what makes this outstanding is the colour palette. I also noticed that the face of the main peak is kinda of strange (even in the larger version).

A beautiful park scene. You timed it just perfect. Overall, the colors are little strong for my tastes. That being said, I don't mind the red tree on the left at all. I could see toning the reds in it down a little, but I certainly wouldn't crop it out as it would ruin the balance of the scene. The layers of pink clouds in the sky are my favorite part of the image - just so peaceful and idyllic. What I don't care for is the cyan color cast of the haze at the base of the peaks most noticeable at the right hand side of the image and behind the conifer in the middle. I'd like to see that neutralized a bit more...
Anyways, it is a lovely scene and I am glad you were able to share it with us.

This is extraordinary, what a beautiful photo! Colors, details, everything works for me.
Congrats

Very well done!
even more breathtaking in the larger version. Thanks so much for
sharing, Paolo.
Wow, what a "kaleidoscope" of colors (original, I know) but really that was my very first impression when this first was posted. The light on the mountain and the contrast looks pretty good to me, but I would say that it has a bit of a "purple mountain magesty" looks to it (USA song reference)
Just gorgeous Paolo!
