One of my favorite subjects. Love the detail throughout this. My only suggestion would be to open up the dark shadows, particularly those on the left of the top leaf, in order to reveal some of the detail that's hiding there.

How do you like the Sigma lens? Have you had a chance to compare it to what Nikon has to offer?? I've got a Nikkor 105 but am considering something a little longer and priced more realistically than Nikon's 200.

I like it as posted. I would not mind a shot with slightly lesser magnification to show the flow of the main leaf in a more diagonal fashion  .

Those dark shadows provide some nice contrast.

Love the patterns, textures and the contrast between the subject and ground. It's very easy here to reverse the subjects and see the darker areas on the side as subject covering the light ground in the center. I like that effect. I think it adds interest.

I like the contrast the near black tips have with the light leaf but would probably open them up a little to try and get more detail as has already been suggested.

Good looking image.

Vincent, I like those dark shadows. They really help the top leaf pop out. And I find those "fingers" to be the most intriguing thing about this image.

Ciao ;^)

Thanks everyone for the comments! I will open up the shadows just slightly to show some detail but I'll keep them in the zone II to III range. @ Mark - I don't have any hands on experience comparing the Sigma 150 to the Nikkor 200. However, I did a fair amount of research and for the price ($729 at BH) the decision was relatively easy to go with the Sigma. I'm happy with the build quality and the results from this lens. This is my first non Nikon lens!

Hi vincent :wavey: I like how the composition shows off the patterns and lines .The shadows are a natural phenomenon which look very natural here. The fine light, color ,and detail add to scene :toast:
