A Walk in the Woods

I finally donned a backpack after far too long a break. That means I get to post to the ESS gallery for the first time in a while, too!

Here is the scene walking the Arden-Surebridge Trail through Harriman State Park on a beautiful Fall morning just as the colors are starting to turn in earnest.

Canon 5D mkII, 24-105mm @ 73mm, f/11, 1/10 sec,iso 100, Gitzo tripod

Thanks in advance for any comments.

While I really like the colors and light here, it's the textures that are the real magnet for me. All the edges seem very prominent and add to this scene's beauty.

A beautiful autumn scenic, Jim. The small cluster of bright red leaves
in the upper right corner adds a nice touch. The cluster of dead branches
in the bottom right corner is a little distracting to me; nevertheless, this
is lovely.

Wow, I love your processing here, you managed to keep things natural looking while increasing the micro contrast in a way that everything jumps out at you nicely. It looks like I could just enter into this scene and walk along the path. Well done!

I could really enjoy a walk here. This is very nice, Jim. I feel like I could walk right in to this. Very nice color too. I like your title. I have had several large prints in a show the last couple of months titled "Walk in the Woods" Nice work, Jim. A very pleasing fall picture.

You composed this scene very well. I find forests hard to photograph but you did great! I love all the details and textures as it makes me feel like I could reach out and touch it. Beautiful colors as well. Just a very beautiful scene very well executed.

Really nice, Jim. The foreground elements work very well, and don't distract in any way for me. I think they frame the background, and make a nice window. Nice shot!

Very nice arrangements and colours.
I like your arrangement: it does not look chaotic at all and it is well balanced.
well done.
