My first "public" attempt at B&W :wavey: I know, not much of a stretch. But hey, I'm a colour guy!!
Carol this is for you.

Canon 5D mkII 90mm T/S. Minimal PP because I don't know what I'm doing with B&W LOL.

Thank you, Bob.

I think you did very well. How did you do your conversion? Only thing I would suggest is that you soften/darken the very end of the "leg" on the right so that it doesn't pull the eye out of the frame.

Very cool and I think all will agree.

Cheers,

Carol

Compelling perspective, Bob, and the b&w looks pretty good to me, being high contrast especially ( though I'm not really a fan !! - smile ).

Bob, I never took much interest in B&W myself until I got to see B&W prints at a gallery (original prints). They were so stunning that I had new admiration for B&W shooters. Print is indeed THE thing when it comes to a photo. This one should print very nicely with so many nice tones and clear black and whites in the frame.

Lovely work

Very nice, Bob. Good detail, mice lighting, pleasing comp...The B&W conversion looks pretty good. I'm just beginning to do quite a bit of B&W conversion and I think you're off to a good start!

Good for you Bob. I like the conversion and the composition very much. After thirty five years of intermittently collecting fine art photography, the black and white images are the only ones that still look fresh and interesting to me. My only problem with this image is the stem on the viewer's right. It looks blurry to me - maybe motion blur? Hope you'll do more of these. I'd like to see where you go with them.

Bob, it's for me an almost natural abstract image. I figure two matting gears rotating in the opposite direction. I like it.
Take care.

Very cool Bob. I really like the view of the underside of these 'shrooms. Nice work on the B&W - with the textures of this subject it works really well.
