Colors of Autumn + B&W
by Carol Hyman
Bob, If you can post a totally awesome B&W Mushroom composition, the least I can do is post a colorful Autumn scene for you.
This is one I did not even consider converting to B&W. I thought the colors of the stem, in particular, were so wonderful, representing any color you might see in Autumn.
It was shot with the Leica D-Lux 4 @ f/2.8, 120s, ISO 160 outside the local supermarket while my frozen foods waited patiently.
I hope you enjoy the colors as much as I do.

24 commentsI really like the contrast between the large stem and its pivot and the strong orange from the Pumpkin body. Some cool textures there on the stem. I'd recommend burning slightly the two small areas of highlight in the lower two corners.
Boy it difficult to keep up in this gallery. Gorgeous images just pop up one after another and this is another.
Love the color. The highlight fix looks overdone; too obvious and slight unnatural - probably need to back up a bit.

P.S. I'll be back to regular scheduled programming of colour images shortly.
