Another photo from last weekend, when I stumbled across a lovely hoar frost area. I took about 100 shots of this clump of grass, varying the DOF and angles. I think I like this one the best.

Macro is a new area for me; I'm mostly a bird photographer. So I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Love the effect that hoar frost creates and you found extremely large ice feathers. You captured nice detail in both the grass and the ice but not too sure about the complexity of the clump of grass. Suggest you zoom in further the next time to show the details of the ice more clearly.

Beautiful -
I'd also like to see a very close macro of the ice details.

Jim,
The light here is perfect for this subject, and your exposure captured it perfectly. Both the hoar frost and the graceful curves make this a beautiful image. I think the composition here trumps any benefit that might have been possible from getting closer, and the details I see in the larger image are exquisite, so I have no nits at all with this. My only suggestion: Keep shooting what is beautiful: large or small; with or without feathers - or even ice feathers!

Excellent find Jim, I really like the frost patterns and the shadow/light combination, keep up the good work.
