These gorgeous flowers appear in my garden every year, a friend helped me with the ID. This is a rainy day stack of 22 images.
I like the lighting on this and my last post, achieved using a 1/8" honeycomb filter on the speedlite and with light reduced to 1/128th.

I like this as posted Craig. However, if you wanted a more symmetrical composition you could clone out the bud on the viewer's left and recenter the flowers - not a suggestion as much as an alternative. Your stack looks perfect to me. Something else to consider, again as an alternative, would be to move the white balance more towards the blue. In my experience it lets the reds and pinks pop a little more in the image. Of course the mood becomes cooler - so again not a suggestion just an alternative.

Pat,
I appreciate the suggestions, repost with left bud removed and blue added to enhance the reds.
Thank you! Craig

Craig, I like both images as posted. The repost bloom really pops with a strong vibrancy with the shift in WB.

Hi Craig,

Beautiful image. Well balanced off-center presentation with great color.

Stacking looks good.

Thanks for the info on the lighting.

Cheers,

Yes, nice stack, Craig. And I think the repost is better with the left bud gone. I'm finding on my monitor that the flash is a bit bright on the flowers. Was a diffuser used? perhaps diffuser would help to soften the light a bit but again, it could be just me. Nicely done.

Craig:
I really like the lighting here. Re-post looks more symmetrical and centered but I find the warm light in the original just as nice.
Thanks for the info about the filter.
