Gallery: Photo ArtPosted October 25, 2010101 views5 comments
Hi...I've been viewing this gallery for several months now and I really enjoy it. I'm not very creative and I don't know my software very well past the usual, normal things. So, I'm taking on a new project for myself...get to know my software better and have fun in the process!!!

So...here's my first attempt...polaroid, some blurring, some glow.

Software...PSE 6, Nik Full Pkg

I REALLY want some honest critiques and comments. Anything and everything are very welcomed and appreciated!

Beth I am so glad you are taking the plunge into Photo Art. This honestly is very nice. I like it as is. You could possibly add a bit more contrast but I am not sure. Nice work and looking forward to watching your progression. Keep em comin'.

Not creative? Please reconsider! This is a wonderful comp, Beth, with some glorious color. I'd consider a crop from the top to keep the focus on the bright red top of the tree on the right; but that's personal taste, perhaps, more than anything else... Nice light hand with the blur and glow. There's a polaroid filter?? Hmmm. In NIK? Hmmm.

Photo Art is a fun adventure. So will look forward to your enjoyment of it.

Welcome! Photo Art is a great forum, and it's a lot of fun to experiment. Anything goes!
Beth, This is wonderful, especially as a first attempt!
Glorious colors, lovely tree silhouettes, and fine detail.
I also thought a small crop off the top would improve this, but when i held up some cardboard to simulate this, it cut off the nice yellow in the upper right too - so I like it best as is!

Looking forward to more of your posts here!!!

Hey Beth,
You certainly did better than my first attempts! I like the flow of the comp and where you positioned the elements. I think the glow worked very well and while I agree with David that a bit more contrast may work.....may be too much but worth exploring! I too am newer to this forum and type of photography so just try and gain inspiration from the work of others. That is what I do!
