Porcupine Encounter

Another of the Nova Scotia fox - this one showing the porcupine quill stuck in her tongue.
They always work themselves out, and she has already shed the ones that were probably in her muzzle.
All these shots were taken from the car, so we could not move or change position without scaring the 2 foxes off.

Looks like he's waiting for a little bit of help. Maybe an Androcles and the Lion moment waiting to happen.

I'm sure she was ok - we watched her for a good 15 minutes, and she was playing, chewing grass, stretching and yawning, and looked very healthy and happy. We would have loved to try to help, but I'm sure she would have run off.

Good one, Sandy. The quill will break off and then work its way out in no time. The tongue is a disinfectant itself.

Great shot. Unique with the quill. The eyes are very intense.
