Feathery Embers

Thanks for your comments and advice on my last post.

This piece of driftwood caught my eye along Superiors' rugged coast. The sun was over my shoulder bathing it with warm light and I really enjoyed the look of this. The patterns reminded me of feathers and the inner wood like burning embers. I instantly thought of Lon Overacker but I couldn't place his image at the time of capture. His is awesome, so thanks for the inspiration Lon.

Thanks again for your time.

FANTASTIC work Anthony! Wonderful detail and color.

BTW - I think you might find Lon's version in "Staff Showcase" link under staff.

I absolutely thought this was Lon's before I looked and saw your name! Beautiful work that lives up to the source of the inspiration, I think.

Very cool, it's amazing that something so dead could be so beautiful.

Superb, Anthony. Absolutely superb. Something that 99.999% of people would have walked right by but which through your remarkable seeing, you have made a gorgeous image. Outstanding.

Anthony,

I can't let this one slide by without thanking you for the reference! I appreciate it and I'm glad that at least if I can't make money at this... at least maybe others can enjoy and be inspired! Thanks!

And I know which image perhaps you were thinking of. And this one here stands completely and successfully on it's own! As someone else mentioned, it's real easy to pass these little gems up, so kudos for a good eye and a wonderful capture. I really like the intense "fiery" reds, the detail and texture throughout. Excellent!
