This is from a couple years ago spring. But It's the spookiest image I have, and thought it was fitting of the day. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your thoughts. large version included as well. It's the start of the holiday season. I hope everyone has a great one!

Nice, moody Yosemite day!
The B&W works perfectly here.

Scary good, Chris. I know its one of the greatest icons, but this rendition is as compelling as any I have seen. The atmosphere is outrageous. :toast:

This is real nice, Chris. What gorgeous light and textures. Certainly reminds me of Adams image.

Foreground tree. Is that dodged? The light between the branches looks a bit processed?

Tony,

Thanks. About the tree, it's been so long, I don't remember. But while preparing the 1200 pixel version for posting today, I noticed the same thing you did. I actually did some highlite burning there. It's highly possible that I dodged it back when first processed it. But I think it might also be some fog in the atmosphere adding to the perception.

Talk about atmosphere! This has tons of that. What a great display of clouds, mist, and fog.

Awesome, Chris. Definitely has a haunting mood to it but still spectacular. Your b/w processing is superb.

Wowza! Nice B&W Chris. The fog adds so much drama and the waterfall a great focal point. Amazing!

I don't know that I would call this spooky, but I would certainly call it very nice! Excellent mood, and I love the the clouds cleared around the waterfall. I would print this really large - would be beautiful hanging on a wall.

You didn't grab a shot of Steve the other weekend... that'd be scarier than this. Seriously, I never tire of Tunnel View shots, especially when there as nice as this. This has a wonderful classic feel to it. Very nice!

Eric,

I tried, but I couldn't focus on him long enough to compose a shot. You know he's so hideous to look at. Just kidding, Steve!

Very nice B&W conversion, I really like the processing and the comp is wonderful. I also notice something odd about a couple of those trees, the way they stand out against some very localized light/dodged areas.

Love the mood Chris. We all know how tough it is to step out of the shadow of Ansel with this view, but you've done a find job in capturing the atmosphere of the valley.

An excellent grand landscape shot Chirs. All the cloud and mist has created a wonderfully moody atmosphere that you've captued so well. The b/w treatment really suites the image. Nice work!
