Sunrise looking to the west. My capture was for a low shot with depth, texture and morning colors.

The broken branches, the sand dunes, the spotty vegetation, and the sandstone bluffs all come together to really give a feel for this area.

You've definitely caught the emotion of dawn.

Nice shot Jay. I love the early morning mood you've captured very well, and the mix of subtle dawn colors is very appealing. It's perhaps a little dark in the immediate fg, but overall I like this one a lot.

Not bad, Jay. I find the empty llc a problem, compositionally, and the horizon needs a little more sky above it for breathing room.

The blue really captures my eye here and it allows me to explore all the fine details. Maybe if you had positioned yourself a bit more to the right, it would have resulted in a stronger composition.

I like the idea here--and it almost works for me--but not quite. I think the problem is the fg subject is not quite strong enough to hold interest, even if it was meant for the textures, and you're left wondering why the great monuments were left hiding in the bg.

If you really liked it I'd include more of the bush in the foreground rather than to the right. I agree with others in that the left hand corner is a bit bare. I'm also noticing strong cyan/blue casts here and there. Lastly I'd leave a little more room up top on the horizon. All that being said, this is a nice place to shoot and there definitley alot of things to get excited about. I'd be interested in seeing additional compositions from here if you have any.
