No more room - this guy popped up way too close to my kayak for the lens.

Really good job on the exposure Sandy. Nice looking Western. I agree he is a little bit tight in the frame.

Sometimes they just get too close. I agree, a bit tight, but a nice look at this bird. I spent about a year working at Lower Klamath back in the early 90s. An awesome place and I got to watch these guys quite a bit. Really interesting behaviour.

I like close shots because of the amount of detail that you can see. Very nice .

Agree with your own wish for more room. Nice pose with a view of the beak and that red eye. :toast:

Great shot... I don't mind how tight it is and I like that the bird isn't looking directly at you

Really nice detail and exposure Sandy, as you noted a little tight on the left. :toast:

Nice one - you've discovered the secret to getting close at Klamath!

Your image is an absolute beauty. The bird is perfectly sharp with excellent detail overall. I know you could add more canvas in this one, should you desire, but I don't think it is necessary. We should all wish for the problem of "the birds were just too close"

Well exposed, great details & color Sandy, love the red eye of this waterbird..
I have a FF post of the cowbird, just fit him in as well.
Sometimes a bird "macro" can work too
Well done :toast:
