Mount Tasman, New Zealand

As my trip to Scotland is in progress at the moment, I'm posting what is likely to be my last (and favourite) image from the May trip to New Zealand.

Spectacular Kah. I can see why it's your favorite. Captured with your usual attention to detail and processing, you've turned "cracks" into true beauty.

Fantastic, Kah Kit. I can see why this was your favorite from New Zealand in May, and there were many good ones. This one is really impressive. I love this view, the light, colors, comp are all fantastic. The sky and the clouds just send it over the top.

I like all the different elements that make this photo spectacular to look at. I feel like I am soaring over the glacier.

Top notch, I love the light and the crevasses look pretty intimidating, hard to tell how large they are :toast:

Awesome Image, I've never seen such a well composed image on a glacier. (I imagine it's quite hard) What's the journey like to get to this place?

This is one of the most intriguing photographs I have seen and for me it is all due to the texture that has been conveyed. The softness of light the smoothness of look makes me want to reach out and rub it. If this can be carried into the print version of this image I think people would do just that. Very nice Kah Kit and that is an understatement.

Very nice - the combo of warm light and white cold glacier with those fractures are temendous. What was the viewpoint for this? aerial? or some high point above the glacier?

Jeremy, this is an aerial. This part of the glacier is not particularly accessible (at least by sane individuals) - as you may guess those crevasses are massive. It was not an easy shot to get and required some planning as well as repeated attempts on different occasions.

Love the lines here Kah Kit as well as the sunset/sunrise glow on the snow! The backgound clouds, sky, and mountains make this even more special. Beautiful capture!

Wow, what a beautiful and unique scene. It's hard to get a sense of scale here. This view reminds me of a gigantic, frosted cake. I love the texture of the snow/ice.

This is outstanding Kah. Until I read this was an aerial shot I was wondering how on earth you got to this spot! The composition here is perfect and I like how the cracks lead the eye back to the mountains and the glowing clouds. Well done.

Wow that is a crazy foreground! The background peak is really interesting as well. And some nice clouds on the left to boot. I do have to say that the blues in the sky look a little strange. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but it seems like the blue in the sky peaking through at top left looks a little unnatural. Like the saturation/contrast got a little wonky in post. Sorry I can't offer any suggestion other than mentioning that it caught my eye.

I didn't understand this was an aerial at first and my initial thought was that this was a very dangerous place to be (and that's probably an understatement). Regardless, it's a superb shot in every respect. Truly spectacular.

My first thought was what did it take to get this amazing shot, then I read your description. Aeriel eh, even more impressive in some ways, knowing how hard it is to get the composition just right in a moving aircraft. Well captured and processed... I like everything about this image. Good stuff!

This is a beaut. The hint of color on the cracks of the snow are sweet. Nice sharpness and presentation. Well done. No nits here but my eyes would like to see more detail in the shadowy area on the left. Yet my eyes are just being extremely picky at that point. This is fantastic image.
