I'm not sure if it is normal for these bugs to sit very still and let you get real close, but that's how I managed to get this shot. Still cropped to 75% Nikon D300 focal length of 200mm f/5.6 1/164 sec iso 400. The white thing was quite dirty so i cleaned it up in PS elements.

Not crazy about the "white thing" but that's an interesting angle on the katydid, with good detail where it counts.
