Sunny River Morning
by Wayne Jones
This was taken the morning after my last post (with the fog). Some people did not like the roots in the FG on the last post. I actually tried to move down the bank to get the same view as in this post, but with that nice low fog. However, by the time I moved, the scene looked had turned to the one in my comment, below. The next morning, the fog was also very diffuse, but when it burned off, I recorded this light show on the red oaks that still retain their leaves. (Used a Lally Cap for white ballance, but I ended up toning down the reds, which were just too unbelievable in this light.)
Canon 50D

Three exposures @ f/16 and ISO 100, hand-blended

22 commentsI was up there yesterday hiking the trails off of Spier Falls road on the Moreau State Park land. Hiked up to the ledges, there were only a few small pockets of yellow left, and lots of brown oak leaves.
Call me weird, but i actually like your second post too--i think if you could have isolated the root so less of the leaves on the ulhs werent showing, that could have made a killer B&W!
