Its a landscape portrait in reality. This hare came quite close to me before he got a wiff of me. (I must take a bath). His ears dropped, he stood for a second and then he took off

Taken at Fogo near Kelso in the Scottish Borders UK

Canon 7D canon 500mm f4 lens, f6.3, 1/250 sec ISO 400

Ron, I find this to be a very interesting composition. Great sharpness and detail! You do need to look at it large to get the full inpact of the image. Some of the OOF grass/plants might be a bit distracting, but IMHO nothing to worry about. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, this is just beautiful. The detail and reality of the hare is amazing.

Interesting composition indeed Ron and I remember I have a scrub hare shot with a very similar pose, for me it works well, but I can imagine for some it won't. I would suggest to crop a little tighter by removing a sliver from the left and bottom. A smoother BG would have been been an improvement. Apart from that this looks a bit too warm and saturated, but these are of course matters of personal preference.

Also a bit too saturated for my taste, but beautifully sharp!
