Hope you guys aren't tired of the swamp.
Another from last weekend. The only place for another species to take root here is in the cracks of the old cypress.

So mysterious and beautiful. The color of the water is just magical. The foggy BG "entrance" to the right really adds to the mystery. Excellent David. Tired of the swamp? NEVER!

Wow! Great work, David. I'm sure not tired of these. This is really nice work, and wonderful comp too.

Many things I like about this: the reflection, the foggy gap in the center right, the plant growing out of the tree, the texture of cypress bark and spanish moss. I won't tire of these.

Love your swamps David. Not something I see everday in New England. Though I did see them once many years ago (~1987 near New Orleans. After a business trip I took some extra time to explore.), but definitely not in your light. The sprigs of colored leaves add something special to this gorgeous scene.

Not at all! Superb addition with the yellow leaves, and a great surrounding comp.

No way!! I want my own swamp shots now...but they are really tough to find in the Oregon high desert. Beautiful work, David!

This composition holds my interest throughout the image. A suggestion ... desaturate the relatively few yellow leaves in the ULHC, the ones which are not part of the main cluster of yellow leaves to the right.

David, I think I would crop the bottom slightly or clone out the yellow leaves reflection, but just a small nit in another beautiful Cypress image from you. Love the addition of some fall color. Nicely done.

This is a hauntingly beautiful image. Fantastic, really. My only suggestion would be to consider cropping the very bottom to eliminate the reflected leaves. I find the reflected leaves a little distracting and detracting.

Thanks to everyone for the input. The reflected leaves bothered me too and I considered cloning or cropping them but cropping them unbalanced the comp (to my eye) and cloning would make the reflection unrealistic as they overlap the knees. So in the end they remain,,,,,not ideal but my best compromise.

No way, love these bayou shots especially this one. That tunnel of light on the right edge is very cool. Great composition and the details are superb. Awesome!

FYI ... in case my suggestion wasn't clear, I wasn't referring to the reflected leaves. I was referring to the few scattered leaves in the upper left corner. I suggested desaturating them, because that might be easier, so that their color would more closely match the color of the tree behind the leaves. But obviously cloning them out would also work, although it would probably require a little more effort.

Keep posting swamp images. I don't get to see anything like this in Northern California. The ambiance is fantastic. More please!

You can serve up this kind of image any time you want. Fantastic mood and composition here. I might favor burning down that brighter area in the UL so that it more closely matches the values found between the two main trunks. Other than that, this absolutely works for me... beautiful work!

Incredible, David. The autumn color together with the remarkable textures in the cypress is outstanding. What I really like though is the tunnel-like effect you achieved on the right hand side, looking deeper into the swamp. Fantastic.

Fantastic, My favorite shot this week. Detail, reflection, nice touch of green and nice small but necessary background - bloody brilliant!

Le magnifique! Still can't figure out what exactly the quality is to your shots down there that resonate so deeply with everyone. Oh well, sometimes you just have to let art flow over you and not be so analytical.
