Woods of Autumn

Forest scene in the Pine Barrens of Long Island. There was just enough mist left over from a very heavy fog to soften up the light. Nikon D80 50-200 Sigma lens

Beautiful fall scene Donald. Love the slight twists in the center trunks. Improvement? there is always room and for my own tastes I wouldn't mind seeing the image brightened up a tad, perhaps with a smidgen of contrast. Other than that nice work

Beautiful Fall colors and mood here. I really like the undulating, dark tree trunks!

Don, you have a real winner here! I thoroughly enjoy the spacing of the larger trunks and the sprinkling of complimentary colors throughout! :toast:

Awesome light, Donald. The mist adds such a plus to this image of Autumn color. Nicely done.

This is a very soothing image. It's easy on the eyes. I do agree with Adam in that I would like to see it brightened up just a little bit.
I really like it though. :toast: :jump:

Beautiful forest scene Donald. Often it can be difficult to compose these types of images without having them appear too busy. The light and colors are very nice and the slight fog adds to the appeal. Well done. :toast:

The tree spacing, color and soft light make for a very pleasing photo. It is not easy to capture a forest scene as well as you have done with this one!

Donald,

This is beautiful! As others have mentioned, it's pretty difficult to pull successful comps out of a busy forest, but you've certainly managed to do just that. The colors are wonderful, but I'm really liking the depth that is captured/created between the front line of trees and undergrowth, and the background forest. Excellent autumn image.

Agreed Donald, one of your best. The clarity of the foreground mixing with the sinuous trunks backed up by the gentle fog and color makes this exceptional! :toast:
