Taken a couple of winters back on a trip down to South Georgia Island. 100,000 pairs of king penguins is quite a sight (and smell).

This really is quite a sight Adam! Besides the visual impact, it makes me wonder about the brown penguins. I am guessing they juveniles being protected by the adults.

Eva, yes for whatever reason the juveniles seem to prefer to be close to one another, more warmth perhaps?

It looks like they're all waiting to get on the cruise boat! Amazing image.

Fantastic juxtaposition... looks like they are really did all pile off the boat... I'm guessing they wouldn't be whining as much as the folks who were caught on that "stranded" cruise off of Mexico...

I must say, however, that due to the composite of two images in this fashion, "photo art" would be a much better locaton for this photo rather than "man & nature"

That's a cool capture Adam. I like how the young penguins give a layered effect to the scene.

Thanks! folks

Just want to clarify (Luke) that the image is not a composite but one image. The ship just happened to be in the background.
