Ripples

Ripples on Inverness Beach, Nova Scotia just before sunrise which will occur to my right. BTW - running out of titles with Inverness Beach in them so just Ripples will do. I am never disappointed with the light and moods of this place even in the worst of weather. This particular morning was very windy but not as cold as some I have endured. A beautiful morning with the constant siren of the wind in my ears and visual evidence of its ferocity. The wind that rattled the cabin I was in the night before, and who conspired with the surf to sculpt a gentle, rippled pattern in the sand. A small group of gulls await sunrise on the other side of the tidal rivulet as well as I on my side.

Thanks for looking and for your comments and critiques.

I thought the small size looked great, but the larger version is even better.

Nice designs in the sand Eva. Nice touch with the gulls sitting out there to. Great capture Eva.

Oh man, those birds by the water's edge have so much more impact in the larger version. Great sense of space!

It's a nice image - nothing to pick at - but not one of your best.

Oddly enough, this image conveys to me a place of solace and comfort, especially with your narrative. I know you probably weren't alone on your vacation, but this shot appeals to my desire to be away from everyone for a time. I am really liking this one!

The foreground patterns are absolutely beautiful, Eva, and the small flock of birds adds a great sense of "being there" to the scene. You can tell when a photographer has developed a personal connection with a place when their work is distinguished in subtleties of color and detail rather than trying to overwhelm the viewer with color. You clearly have a strong sense of this place.

The larger version is very revealing! A fine combination of colors and detail, and a nice subtle hand in 'development'.

I'm not much of a coastal person, Eva, but your images make me want to move there. I'm always amazed at how you always come up with new takes on the genre. Very good light in this one with nicely balanced color and contrast.

Another excellent image in your seashore series, Eva. The soft light brings out the ripple patterns nicely. :toast: Beautiful color throughout the frame.
