On an overcast day, I tried to keep the background stark to highlight the wood duck's beautiful colours.
Thanks for viewing and your comments.

Love Wood Ducks! Nice capture but would have been nice to be a little lower on the angle of the shot.
Nice details in the brown colors....

Nice Wood Duck. The color is good as well as the focus and dof. It would have been nice if back ground would have been a little darker for my taste.

You've caught the bird in a lovely position and he is a real beauty. I wonder if you could tease any more detail out of the shadows?

Very Nice Darren, I love Woodies, if it was mine ( and I wish it was ) I would probably darken highlights a bit on the water but it's nice as is.

Love the pose this guy gave you Darren. The dull light makes this bird stand out. As far as the water goes I don't mind it as posted.

Colours are really effective Darren. A lower angle may have helped but I konow that's not always possible.

Nice shot in a tough light. The dynamic range is a real stretch but you seem to captured the best balance.

Darren,
I like the pose a lot and the gray water is fine with me as posted. I wonder if you could lighten the darks a touch to show more detail there. Great view of the eye and I love the way the duck has its bill tucked down on the chest
