Many Glacier Tranquility

Nothing better than getting up early and watching the world come alive! This image was captured around 5:30 in the morning outside the Many Glacier Lodge. Looking over Swiftcurrent Lake as the surrounding peaks were partially shrouded in clouds from a clearing storm - incredibly peaceful.

Canon 5D MKII

15 seconds @ f16
ISO 100

C & C welcomed and encouraged - thanks for looking

I love "mountain in the clouds" scenes and this with the blue light is beautiful.

Welcome to NPN Randy. This is the first time I've viewed your work. You're certainly right about the tranquility - this is very peaceful and soothing. Hope to see a lot more landscapes from you.

Randy,

Welcome to the ES&S Gallery! Looks like you've been registered for awhile, but I'm thinking this is your first post here. And what a great first image! The drama of the elements is fantastic and the contrast really makes this one pop. I'm a little unsure about the purple though. I think you could tone that down by desaturating the blues a little, OR heck, go all the way with a b&w. But regardless, this is a wonderful scene and a great moment you were able to witness and capture.

Top shot Randy. I like the strong contrast between the dark line of trees and the light bg. The cloud and mist shrouded mountains are wonderfully moody and mysterious. Excellent!

Beautiful work. Love the softness of the fog and clouds punctuated by the peaks and treetops.
