Zion National Park, Utah

While it was a little early for peak colors in the main areas of Zion when I was there a couple weeks ago, I did find a lot of nice spots east of the tunnel. I was especially drawn to the intimate scenes and really liked how the fallen leaves and sandstone interacted. This scene was untouched and I did not move anything. There was the temptation to flip over a couple of the maple leaves, but I decided to leave them as is.

that's an awesome "ground bouquet" you found Jimmy. The mixture of color and texture holds a lot of visual interest. The 90 TS-E sure was ideal for this shot. I bet the full res is SHARP.

Glad you left them unturned - every time I've ever messed with leaves it turned out worse than if I had left them alone! This is really pretty Jimmy - great color and texture in the rock and sand, and the leaves look great as is. I do wish there was a bit more room at the bottom, but not a deal killer.

Nice subtle light Jimmy, like the vertical lines in the sandstone.

We might of crossed foot prints here.

Very nice intimate scene Jimmy. I really like the lines in the sandstone and how they interact with the leaves. Good job exercising restraint to not move the leaves! The scene definitely looks natural.

Really nice intimate image, Jimmy. It reminds me of a "Guy Tal" in a lot of ways.

Jimmy,

You couldn't have arranged these any more perfectly even if you tried and you spend a day doing it. What a great find and an exceptional crafting of the composition with the sand and sandstone. I even love all the little details in the sand that tell the viewer from where these leaves had traveled as they blew across the sand. Fabulous image, and yes, I agree with Harley, there's a Guy Tal in there some where...

The leaves have such a delicate look to them against that rock. Quite a find and an incredible image, Jimmy. Love it.

Very artistic image. The rock shape, contour, and lines are great. I think I prefer the original.
