Red Grouse

1D Mk iv, 600mm f4, 1/320s, f7.1, iso 200.

This beauty is actually sitting on a wall - a "dry stane dyke", that has seen better days and is completely overgrown with grass. It meant the background became nicely out of focus. Taken from car window, I was a little overpowered. I had to add some canvas and hope it isn't too obvious.

Gorgeous details and nice pose. Canvas add is only noticeable because it shows up in the smaller version but not the larger version... actually there is one noticeable artifact right where the grass meets the OOF area.... a quick passover with the cone tool will take care of that.

Very nice, Ian. Good management of the DOF in a big bird. Interesting pose, too.

Beautiful pose, light and eye contact Ian. Love the red "brow". I'd clean up the little artifact Luke mentioned, otherwise I feel this shot is intimate & appealing.
