At one of my favorite streams I was just playing around with the beautiful light and flow of water on this particular day. Maybe a lack of a central focal point, but just liked the water. ;) D-60, ISO-100, 4 seconds at f-29.0, CPL, 38mm. Larger posted too, thanks for looking!

I can see why it's one of you favorites, but as you said, it is missing a focal point. I would've liked to see more room at the top too. Have you considered doing some abstract work with the little cascades or with the water?

You have some cool things happening here but it doesn't really work as a whole. It took me a while to learn that moving to the next level in photography involves being brutally honest with myself about my work. Now I discard a lot more shots. Most times I don't process a thing from my shoots, but we just have to hang in there and keep at it as long as it's fun and just enjoy the outdoors.

Bill, this looks like a spot full of opportunity. The flow of water on the right side looks odd in this comp, to me; it stands out as if it's a leading line, but instead it's soft and blurry... Composed differently, possibly a completely different effect. The top ends abruptly and leaves at least this one viewer very curious about what's out a little farther. Perhaps looking at different pov's, angles, and moderate telephoto would help to strengthen the images by dialing in on specific elements that attract you repeatedly to this place.

Very interesting abstract, Bill. I think it may have worked better if there was a way to compose without the elements in the upper right corner. The rest of the scene has such beautiful smooth lines.

Thanks everyone. I've posted shots of this place showing the full scene, and other abstracts, in both ESS and M&N. There is currently a full view of the place up at M&N which I like quite a bit.

PS-Thank you Guy, that was my main reason for posting this, the water was just great that day. The scrub, ugh.
