The reflection caught my eye, and then I bult the composion around it. Probably could have made an image with just the reflection.
2 exposures, one for sky and the other for shadows.

Nice shot Harry. The reflection is nice, but what really attracts me are the diagonally slanted rocks bordering the stream - so neat! You did a good job handling the dynamic range here.

Harry, I like the image, to me the larger version makes it really work (and my monitor tilts vertical) I like the comp as it's complex and creates an X pattern and of course th colors and shadows are well done

I really like this! There are so many nice places for the eye to rest: the dimpled sand, the meniscus of water against the solitary leaf and sand, the striae of rock, the blockiness of the upper walls. Yet the eye is led gently but inexorably up the canyon. Super work!

This is quite nice, Harry. Very nice colors and a nice interesting view. Looks like a cave back there that makes me want to go and take a look. I like the reflection too, and all the lines in the rocks are really interesting. nice work.

Quite the location! Very well done comp. I wish the farthest rockwall was just a tad darker, I seem to be drawn to the light!

Great job Harry,
I like the curves and reflection as well. I might opt for the sky to be excluded concentrating on keeping the viewer engaged in form and textures. Looks like a fun place to shoot

I like this a lot Harry! The thumbnail of the image didn't really draw me, but once I opened this thing there is so much detail and as others said, so many places for the eye to explore. If this were mine I might tone down the bright highlights in the part in direct sunlight, but just personal preference there. Excellent work, nice shot!

Real nice series of elements. Tough light, but you handled it well.

This is a cool shot--BUT, crop the top 1/4 and this would be an uber-cool, mind-blowing amazing shot!

Harry,
Terrific job in handling the dynamic range. This is just an all around great composition; well balanced and a nice combination of elements - including the reflection that stands out nicely as you designed.
No nits or suggestions. Only thing else to say is now I know where Jimmy G. got his mud pattern images... :-)
Nice job Harry.

Great shot Harry. I hear what Stan is saying about cropping the top, but I think the blue sky is a nice element of color in the scene. Strong compositon.

Fabulous composition that shows off the interesting formations around. Great job on the processing which is perfect.

Nice capture, and what a very compelling place. Lots of elements that keep you looking and I agree that the reflection and wet sand would also work.

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of bringing down the back wall highlights a tad. Leaving out the sky was my obvious choice due to the huge brightness range, but in the end I haven't seen many shots of canyons with sky, so I thought I would give it a try. I could easily crop off the top if it didn.t work. I thought the slight blue at the top would balance the blue reflection at the bottom. Maybe cropping off the top of the sky would be another way to make it stronger.
Thanks again for your input, Harry

Very cool reflection. I like that part of this great comp the best too. Sand ripples and fallen leaves are something higfh on my list.

Cool! Love the range of colors here. Good job on the blend. Echo canyon is one of my favorites in Zion.

Excellent canyon shot, great job on handling the shadows and I like the sky showing at the top to give you a perspective of how deep the canyon is, I would not change a thing, well done.
