Don't think I've ever shared this one (although if I did i'm really very sorry :jump: ). A wolf from the Bavarian NP in January this year was preparing fo the night, he dug himself a cozy hole and lay down to watch us pack up and leave

My apologies for not beeing very active here, it is due to my focus on landscapes (you can see some of those in my gallery). I might be back with some fresh stuff if I can find some wildlife to photograph at the end of January 2011, but haven't found anything (affordable  ) yet so I might go with mroe landscapes.

As always thank for looking and c&c.

p.s. Conversion/lack of NR seems to have messed up the quality a bit:wink:

Tech: 7d, f5.6, iso 800 & 1/320. As indicated by the (c) this is a captive subject

Nice image, I like the expression on the wolfs face, but would like just a bit more detail in the snow. Nice detail and color in the wolfs coat. Thanks for sharing.

Cool pose and capture, Jorne. I feel this suggests a horizontal format, further using the diagonal lines in the snow. Did you take it both ways? I would also apply a light application of brightening to just the wolf, which would make him "pop" more and possibly show some texture in the dark nose. When viewed large, the detail of hair and snowflakes and ear positions make this a very pleasing image, worthy of taking some time for minor tweaks!

Nice photo, Jorne! It looks cozy indeed. The wolf looks very pleased with its hole. I would have liked a small border for presentation or a black BG. :toast:

I like the "I have seen you" look in the eyes. I think the image would have benefited a bit with selective brightening of the wolf, particularly its eyes.

I think it would make a better viewing if presented tighter and horizontally. The details on the fur are very nice.

Excellent Jorne, I love the eye contact and the way he really 'stands' out in the snow. :toast:

Interesting expression (like the wolf in the fables...)! I think that an horizontal format could be appropriate...

Like the eye contact and the little bit of snow on the head.

Very nice Jorne. I agree with Lon on the selective brightening, that will certainly make it more balanced imo. Small nits, literally: I don't mind the pine needles, except for the one near the lower left corner that is touching the edge of the frame, and if this were mine, I'd remove the diagonal shape in the upper left corner, either by cloning of cropping.

I love that he looks like he is smiling. Makes me want to give him a hug (but I do know better than that). I also love how you've placed him alone in the world of snow.

Thanks for the comments and suggestion all! It's a little late but I am very busy and I agree it needed some small changes so here is a repost
